Sad Sox . . .
A sad note: For obvious reasons, the late baseball legends Jack Brickhouse and Harry Caray won't be in attendance. (Michael Sneed, Chicago Sun-Times)

Harry Caray may qualify as a legend. But Brickhouse is probably not well known outside Chicago.

Caray might qualify as a "broadcasting legend," but as far as I know he never distinguished himself on the field.

*Place yer bets the late great Monsignor Ignatius McDermott, who passed away last New Year's Eve at 95 and was such a lifelong Sox fan his license plates read "Sox 4," will be hovering above home plate. (McDermott was 8 when the Sox last won the Series.) (Michael Sneed, Chicago Sun-Times)

***I'll take that bet.***

So, Phillip, are you going to any of the games?

It's possible, but unlikely. A trip to Chicago during the World Series feels like a major production of the sort I tend to avoid.
