That's what happens when stories are sent to the wire before going through the copy desk! The rimmer had the same reaction that you did, so the story that's going in the paper now begins: <p>Ray Charles, the musical innovator ...

When I asked about it just now, it was already done. <p>Just as an aside, when the rimmer called to suggest the wording change, the reporter was horrified. Hadn't even thought about tasteless double meaning (and was thankful to be alerted!)
