Yeah, I read that one, too - but Garbo and Hughes put you firmly in the Forties. At least Gilligan is 60's. Anybody out there have the same reaction as me? As far as I can tell, virtually everything that happens in life has already prefigured either in Shakespeare or in one of the great John Mortimer 'Rumpole' stories; in this case, 'Rumpole and the Bubble Reputation' wherein Rumpole defends the sleazy editor of The Daily Beacon in a libel action... |
