One of my compatriots on the copy desk here in Butte, Montana, is getting a couple of these critters for her kid this Christmas. What's the story on them? I have never heard of them. A new major Aussie export, maybe?

Aren't those snakes? (This was not covered in "Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat.")
Nope, not snakes, as I discovered courtesy of Paul's link. But I noticed on that Web page that the link to a page that warns about the down sides to sugar gliders is 404.
[ December 12, 2004: Message edited by: Jackie ]

Hey, Paul:
Any links to advice on the care and feeding of Kiwis? We're getting one in January.

Our possums are bigger than Texas! (in the old country, New Zealand) they are an introduced danger to the ecology and one kills them on sight. Here I give 'em water and they come down from the trees and roam around the living room.
