Does this story announcing that Billy Packer is being replaced by Clark Kellogg go a little out of its way to make Packer look bad? All it can manage to say about him is that he "spoke with authority"; otherwise it spends five paragraphs (about half the story) recounting his missteps. Is this AP's way of suggesting that, as far as the reason for the change, there's more to the story? |

Who knows? It is true that Packer was an embarrassment and a liability to CBS, not only because of his misogyny and racism, but also because he seemed not to understand what was happening on the courts right in front of his nose. |
