Surprised no one else has posted such a thread here yet. Here are mine: Yanks over the Tigers in three (Tigers can't beat Royals in three games at home, thus tanking division title, and have lost their last five in a row; Yanks, who played well in September, would have been 6-1 instead of 5-2 against the Tigers this season if they had used Rivera to close out a game that Farnsworth blew) A's over the Twins in four (Better A's starters overcome better Minnesota offense) Padres over the Cardinals in four (Cards are gassed, from what I read and hear, having stumbled into postseason, and will be lucky to win anything but the Carpenter game) Dodgers over the Mets in five (Superior Dodger pitching and league-leading hitting overcomes Pedro-less, overly 49-year-old-Duque-reliant Mets) |

El Duque's pitching for the Mets? I just might tune in. |

Given my track record, I might as well say Royals beat Pirates in Game 11. If my life depended on an accurate prediction I'd flip a coin. If forced to attempt a coherent argument, I'd end up with the Yankees' depth trumping all, ending with a Subway Series. |
