Apparently so. Barely. If by "Mantle years" you mean 1960 and if by "played" you mean at least one game.
Billy Shantz and
Bobby Shantz both played for the Yankees in 1960. In Billy's case, that amounted to recording one putout (as catcher) and no at-bats. He never appeared in the majors again. His older brother Bobby, a pitcher, had 42 appearances for the Yankees that season, going 5-4 with a 2.79 ERA. I have to wonder whether Billy was brought in to catch his brother for one out as some sort of stunt, and then sent off to the minors forever. Of course, the Yankees did have a pretty good
regular catcher at that time.
