I've noticed a lot of the Japanese players in the major leagues don't take practice swings when they're in the batter's box. Ichiro, of course, is famous for taking aim at the pitcher with his bat, but I've seen Matsui on the Yankees not take swings, and I think the Mariner catcher last night, Johjima, wasn't taking any either. Is this a Japanese thing or am I making a mountain out of a molehill (as the push-up bra manufacturer said)? |
