The Red Sox front office has decided to proclaim "co-champions" in the AL East. The Cardinals did this a few years back when they and the Astros tied in the regular season and the Astros won the division by virtue of head-to-head supremacy. The Cards were derisively nicknamed the "Co-ardinals" in Houston for a season thereafter.

Me, I don't mind so much if the Red Sox want to call themselves co-champions. As you stated in another post, there ought to be a playoff game, but things aren't done that way. You won't hear me calling them the "CoSox" (though it has a lovely ring).

Was it fixed or did you misread it? The Red Sox are listed first -- presumably alphabetically -- but the designations are correct for X and Y as of 12:35 EDT.

Well, one of the two. I'd like to think I was right and it was fixed.
