Is it me or does Manny Ramirez resemble a "Last Tango"-era Marlon Brando, down to the crazy hair?
Watched a few innings tonight and saw him make a fantastic catch to take away a home run. He looks like a classic punk. A rebel, if you will.
I was hoping to see El Duque tonight, but he was washed out. One of the most memorable games I've ever seen is a World Series matchup between him and Greg Maddux, ca. 2000. One of them won it 2-1. I want to say the Yanks. Check my math, someone.

That would have been 1999, when the Yanks swept the Braves.
Hernandez won Game 1 on Oct. 23 at Turner Field, beating Maddux 4-1.
Did you see Manny try to run out a foul ball into a home run? What a doofus.
And then a few innings later Miguel Cairo--on the ball Manny caught--ran out his fly-ball out as if it were a home run, unaware that Manny had caught it.
No game today, I believe. Ivan--or is it the remnants of Charley?--has come to call.
[ September 18, 2004: Message edited by: wordygurdy ]

Yes, that's the game. I watched it in a bar on Grand Avenue.
Both pitchers were near-perfect through seven innings. Hernandez's only mistake was a home run by Chipper Jones.
I remember Maddux loading the bases in the 8th and the wheels coming off for the Braves. Must have involved one or both of those errors at first base.
Look for it someday on ESPN Classic.
Heh, heh. Chuck Knoblauch.
