This is coming up in some AP copy we got (and it appears this way on two news Web sites, the Washington Post and the phillyburbs.com) ... but we can't quite figure out what it means ... Was there a translation provided ?? <p>"We allow people to die in health in a way we would never tolerate in any other part of society," said Gingrich, a Republican who served as speaker from 1995 until the end of 1998, when he gave up his seat after the GOP's poor showing in the November elections.

Without knowing the context, I'd guess Gingrich is referring to the health care field when he says "in health." So it would be a quote about problems addressing end-of-life issues. <p>Or maybe he means society is letting too many healthy individuals die? Like the unborn being aborted, non-terminal patients committing doctor-assisted suicide, or people "in health" but falling victim to crime or drugs. But that's a stretch.<p>Pretty confusing quote, though.

We decided to just go without it. I figured that was probably what he meant ... but I do hate to assume. <p>Considering the source, I guess that's about as articulate as Newt gets. He later goes on to say that "Paper records kill" ..... which also sounds odd, unless you know he's talking about using them versus electronic medical records, which are usually more legible and reliable.
