I remember in grade school reading something along the lines of mathematics and language being the warp and weft of the world. It might have been from Thurber. Can anybody help please.

I don't know. Doesn't sound like Thurber, unless there's some tidy little comic reversal embedded in the quote. I'm thinking someone like Bertrand Russell. Maybe Alfred North Whitehead or John Dewey. Too dry? Remember anything else about it? Sure it was "mathematics" and "language"?

I remember quote having a positive effect on my choices.
