I do not have the best journalism job in America, since my journalism job is not in America.

I'd LIKE to have the best journalism job in America but not sure if mouthy, over-the-hill p.r. folks are considered for those. Ah, well.

And I think *I* have the best job in journalism. I'll take my three 12-hour days (no weekends either, barring catastrophic events) over any of your schedules anytime.

I once worked four 9.5-hour days a week and found those days long but bearable. You must not have a lot of free time on your workdays, but four days off sounds really sweet.

Some weeks we put the whole magazine out in essentially a day and a half. But not every week, thank goodness. And you're right. Four days off--consecutive!--is really terrific. I have real flexibility in scheduling vacations and travel. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Except retirement, but that's another story.
