Nepotism issue continues to run deep in Stillwater town politics (Albany [N.Y.] Times Union)
***I thought it was clever to use "run deep" in Stillwater stories when I covered that town 30 years ago. You know what? I was wrong.***

In keeping with Times Union tradition, I will hurriedly and loudly point out that I was not working that night.

I was surprised to read that Butch Lilac, who was supervisor when I covered Stillwater 20 years ago, switched parties.
I avoided "runs deep", but I have to admit to other youthful indiscretions when I covered the town. I have a collection of photos of building and people that I shot for publication (the newspaper I worked for was so cheap that local reporters also were expected to take photos) posed with my 1965 Plymouth Valiant. It seemed funny at the time, but I was wrong.
[ March 28, 2004: Message edited by: Dean Betz ]
