The Atkins diet has definitely reached the saturation point with this week's religion column discussing the struggles of low-carb dieters during Lent.
I must point out that the author, Terry Mattingly of Scripps Howard News Service, is one of the most consistently interesting columnists around of any genre.

"In Lent, we should examine our lives and isolate the influences that are destructive or silly, the habits that draw us away from God."
-Father Matthew Streett of Saints Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church in Potomac, Md.
Obsessive dieters (low-carb or otherwise), are you listening?
