I think most of them would depend on the context. If the story backed them up, they would fly.
"Prolonged efforts to open the safe made the old crowbar even more blunt than it had been at the beginning." Where's the problem?
Anxious White House problematical. It's hard to psychoanalyze others, still harder to psychoanalyze buildings.
