I love the way they can do those headlines to such a short headline count. Fair dinkum, you could fit the Gettysburg Address into those counts.

These copy editors show a love of their craft that made me determine to write better headlines myself, starting today!<p>I was impressed overall by the quality of the headlines, but depressed at how many used puns or what I felt to be inappropriate word plays.<p>Final thought: Why doesn't anyone ever submit a really great news headline, written under deadline pressure, that accurately conveys a complex story?
