CARACAS, Venezuela - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called President Bush an "asshole" on Sunday for meddling, and vowed never to quit office like his Haitian counterpart as troops battled with opposition protesters demanding a recall referendum against him.
***... a comment that was not reported in the United States, as far as I can tell.***

Did you search for dashes and asterisks?
I was reminded of the wonderful documentary "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" -- a fascinating insider view of the attempted 2002 coup vs. Chavez -- this morning when I heard a radio report of Colin Powell's response to Aristide's claim of U.S. coercion. Said Powell: "That's simply -- uh -- not true."
