Given that the picture of Saddam after capture has run in so many papers, I'd be interested to know if any of you spot what seems unethical colour correction.

The problem for newspapers is that their presses never print the same page the same way for more than about 30 seconds. Some editions could have Saddam looking one way, some another, all of it perfectly innocent.

correct, which is why colour correction for press performance is legitimate. The sort of manipulation I'm alert for is where one part of the image has been corrected more than another.

For those of you trying to visualize what is being discussed here, I believe I found the image on the New York Times Web site. You can see he looks haggard and disheveled.<p>Image
