If you reach the point I am at in my job, where your off days seem to amount to nothing more than killing time between shifts, does that mean you are dissatisfied with your life away from work or with the type of job you hold or your place of employment?
Assuming this is an either/or question, I'll say your life away from work is the real problem here.
Do you feel that way about your job -- that it's so oppressive that you feel it weighing on you even when you're not in the office? If so, has that feeling ever caused you to seek other employment? Has the change worked?
Your first question: I have felt that way about former jobs, yes. Your second question: I did seek other employment as a result. And yes, it worked, except for the one time when I ended up replacing one oppressive job for another.
Hope that helps.
[ December 05, 2003: Message edited by: Gary Kirchherr ]
