I know this is not cynical and interesting, but since I'm not a copy editor, I'm entitled to be dull.
Can anyone recommend a good punctuation book? I need something with good rules on hyphenation, dashes and maybe commas. Forget Donder and Blitzen.
Or, if blanp is going to kill me for posting something like this, would anyone be willing to answer by e-mail the occasional grammar or punctuation question I have?
Thanks.
[ November 29, 2003: Message edited by: Emily Salmon ]

Try this one. It's a bit on the pricey side, considering you're asking only about punctuation, but the book's well worth the price.

If you're looking for a book just on punctuation, "Mind the Stop" comes to mind. I read it years ago. Not sure if it's still in print.
