VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Jurors in the John Allen Muhammad trial have become used to seeing tearful people in the courtroom, as witnesses describe how their family members were killed by a sniper's bullets. But Friday, jurors saw tears coming from an unlikely person - Muhammad himself.

Unlikely? If you're presuming he's guilty, I suppose.

Has he shown a propensity to cry before? If not, and this is his first time, then perhaps "unlikely" is the proper word?
Gatekeeper
-30-

I find it inappropriate for a news story to postulate that Muhammad’s tears were unlikely.
It's hardly surprising that a man charged with horrific crimes would cry in court, especially if he had been falsely accused, which should be considered a possibility until a verdict is rendered.

You're absolutely right (I screwed up last year and referred to Muhammad as the sniper sted of sniper suspect in a story. I'm sooo glad my news editor caught it.)
