Carol Oleksak grinned at the sea of cameras without a trace of bitterness about the gunshot that changed her life.<p>"I'm glad about it. There's a reason behind it," the Albuquerque Police Department officer said at a news conference this morning at City Hall, speaking publicly for the first time since she was shot in July by an indigent man with a brain disorder.<p>"People don't feel right when they've been hurt. You're upset about it, but something hit me. This happened for a reason."
