NBC News reports ..."Those who do turn out are being asked to choose the ending of a saga that has captivated the nation for months: whether Davis becomes the nation’s second governor to be recalled, and if so, who should replace him." <p>Maybe it's captivated California. Not discounting the importance of the vote, there are others of us still un-captivated by it.

When might George Bush decide to march into California and impose U.S.-style democracy?

I've been reading Fareed Zakarias' "The Future of Freedom," whose basic thesis is that "democracy" can get out of hand and lead to something that is not at all democratic. You don't need to buy every argument to find the thing thought-provoking.
