If a Copy Editor writes an article, should he/she get a byline?

Why not? I write enterprise newsfeatures every once in a while, just to stay sharp and have a little fun. Unless there's some sort of obscure union issue at play, I can't imagine why any writer wouldn't get the credit/blame for their work by name.
