I'm finding the word "fulsome" cropping up more and more frequently with the sense of "complete" or "generous." Am I fighting a solitary action here to retain its meaning of "cloying, excessive, disgusting by excess (of flattery, servility, exaggerated affection)" [Oxford]
Less common, but definitely out there, is the usage of "noisome" to mean loud, rather than noxious, evil smelling and offensive.

... all of which reminds me of how Jimmy Carter often was described as "toothsome."

Another over- and misused word is "typically," used to mean "generally," "usually," or "normally."<p>It is correct to say, "An SUV typically carries six or more passengers, weighs more than 1,800 pounds...." But is is wrong to say, "He typically washes his SUV Saturday evenings."<p>It's getting to the point that I see or hear this word misued everyday, typically two or three times a day :-)<p>Ron<p>[QUOTE]Originally posted by KfitzR:

"... all of which reminds me of how Jimmy Carter often was described as "toothsome." <p>Who nibbled him to determine this? I'd say it goes well beyond normal journalistic research!
