Bill Keller, New York Times executive editor, on his appointment of Jill Abramson as managing editor:
While they have never worked in the same city, Abramson is "a superb journalist" who has "got a reporter's DNA," Keller said. (Washington Post)
***I don't mean for a second to take anything away from either Keller or Abramson, but wouldn't it be nice if the managing editor had a little "editor's DNA"?***

She should take that DNA and give it back to the reporter.
(On becoming prime minister, Winston Churchill said he had "nothing to offer except blood, toil, tears and sweat." If he wanted a job today, he'd have to piss in a bottle. Next step will be DNA sampling to determine if a worker is genetically suited to the corporation.)
[ August 02, 2003: Message edited by: canuck ]
