As I'm reading that and wondering how the hell it got in the paper, I'm reminded of what happened just yesterday on my very own desk, when proofs of a cover page were passed out to more than a dozen seasoned professional copy editors, only one of whom noticed that the lede of one story mentioned "neurotic facial ticks."

I'm often reminded of a headline I okayed (in a long-past and sordid youth) that quoted Tina Turner as saying, "It's painful to relieve the past." It was, of course, supposed to be "relive."<p>So I relieved my own past when I saw the headline. It can happen anywhere.
