Blanchard: You done the Testy Copy Editors proud at the ACES board. <p>I know you've thundered on the same topic a hundred times over the past few years, but it took till now for the rightness of it to penetrate my thick skull. It's not that I thought you were wrong before, I just figured you were being stubborn. <p>I guess I had to see their trite defenses of Headline Writing as We Know It before the lightbulb went on.<p>Too bad so few of them seemed to get it.

I'm beginning to think that people are being deliberately provocative in the headline thread on the ACES bulletin board, which started here on Sunday. I don't think more help will do any good.
