Fed up with going from a daily to three days a week, most of the entire staff followed the publisher to start a new daily. Story here. Odd the ad doesn't say anything about copy editors or even paginators. Or maybe not. |

An quick aside to that story is the following quote: More mom and pop stores are gone. That used to be the bread and butter of the regional market. Thjis key factor doesn't get mentioned often enugh in discussions of the economics of our craft. Good on the paper's staf for having the courage to retaliate in that fashion, as long as it's not just petulance. |
