The Herald News, a 30,000 daily located 15 miles from Times Square in gritty, newsy Passaic County, NJ, has an opening for a full-time sports copy editor.

Does this mean there's a good chance I would be shot walking to my car after the shift?

No, you will not need a Kevlar vest to work there.

The newsroom is actually in a very boring (except for some nice hilly views out the windows), corporate building off a major highway in the suburbs.

One of the cities in the coverage area -- Paterson, the county seat -- has about as much crime as can be expected in a city of its size, poverty level, population density, etc. It's not as bad as Trenton or Camden, N.J.

If you want to know more about this particular paper, PM me.

[edit: fixed typo]
