I can't answer that, but I have a vague recollection of a long-ago thread on this subject, and it was clear that in such situations the terms were much more generous in your neck o'the woods. I am too lazy to try to find it, but perhaps you or someone else is more motivated.

Joined: Fri Nov 15, 2002 1:01 am Posts: 3557 Location: Cusp of retirement, grave or both	I think our contract calls for two weeks per year of service as severance, capped at 60 weeks, or some such. Much less was offered in a buyout a few years ago, and some people actually took it. I can only assume they had jobs lined up. The company apparently has the option to offer less in the case of a buyout rather than a layoff, and it is an option they seem to pursue eagerly.
