Seeking Content Manager/Copy Editor

Royal Oak, MI --- Large online magazine seeks experienced and energetic content manager/copy editor for in-market, lifestyle automotive and travel publication aimed at upscale consumers with a slant towards women. RTM is not an enthusiast publication therefore content is written in a conversational, entertaining and educational format. Candidate will be required to become knowledgeable with RTM demographic audience.

Candidates must have 2-4 years experience in content management, have exceptional organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines. Some travel required to road test cars and attend industry functions. Building relationships with industry contacts required so must excel in written and oral communications as well as personal presentation.

Auto and travel press trips can often be rigourous so excellent health and good physical condition necessary to accept physically demanding challenges that sometimes accompany trips, which range from 2 to 7 days in length, in the U.S. and abroad. Current passport will be necessary in 2008.

Experience in copy editing, writing for websites and SEO, content management, content mangement system, fact checking, researching new and original content, proficient at driving a manual vehicle

The ad does say that road-testing vehicles is part of the job, so the manny proficiency doesn't seem out of line. I am more inclined to raise my eyebrows at the road-testing!

Which I think means an emphasis on new family cars.

No requirement for a valid (international) driver's license? Wouldn't that be a better first step than proficiency at driving a stick?
