The Springfield News-Leader has immediate openings for a multi- talented journalist to help shape our publications on the Web and in print.
You will have online and print design and production responsibilities for our InfoCenter Delivery Desk, formerly the daily newspaper's copy desk.
We're looking for an editor with initiative. You will copy edit stories and write headlines, design print and online pages for news-leader.com (5m monthly page views), the daily News-Leader newspaper (56k daily; 86k Sun.) and a variety of specialty online and print magazines.
Background in copy editing, design and multimedia, including understanding of HTML, is a plus. We're not just a daily newspaper anymore, so you must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changes in the media industry.
A college degree in journalism, information technology or other related degree and/or related work experience is required. We'll consider recent college graduates with the experience listed above.

Time to take up yoga, push what you know about editing into the back of your brain, and learn HTML, because coding is more important than content. Oh, and really, for the InfoCenter Delivery Desk, they'll want somebody young and it doesn't matter what they know about copy editing (see name of desk) because they'll be cheap.
