Will someone please put the AP hiringperson out of his or her misery?

Features related to things in the news (unlike the random ladies' magazine/reference book material that passes for feature stories in the paper I work at). Makes perfect sense to me. Then again, maybe I'm just excited to see someone try to articulate that concept.
