Looking for GA reporter

Job Status: Full-time
Salary: Not Specified
Ad Expires: April 10, 2013
Job ID: 1474251
Website: http://thestarnews.com

Description:

The Star-News is a weekly looking for a full-time general assignment reporter. The beat covers National City and Chula Vista, two cities about seven minutes away from the U.S.-Mexico border. Previous experience and knowledge of AP style are preferred but if you think you're exceptionally talented send your résumé. Ideally you will possess a healthy skepticism of all things official and you will enjoy the opportunity to hold politicians and cops accountable for their words and deeds. We'll also need you to be adept at social media and flexible enough to handle breaking stories. You'll work in a relaxed atmosphere located half a block away from a bar. Interested? Send your résumé to: carlos@thestarnews.com

I'd recommend The Aspen Times because the Hotel Jerome (where Hunter Thompson hung out) is right next door.

Perhaps Chula Vista has a law mandating a minimum distance between newspaper office and saloon, much as you can't sell booze next door to a school. Can't risk having the innocent corrupted.
