Not sure what "news sweeping" is; picking up bits and pieces from the wire or from handouts? Singular "is" in front of mandatory, please, when it's a singular subject, however distant.

Responsibilities include copy editing basic news items/theater reviews/features for grammar, clarity, accuracy, spelling, narrative strength, and style across several platforms (site, TM magazine, listings and video) in accordance with in-house and AP guidelines.
Applicants should be solid writers who can also assist in writing short news blurbs when needed.
Fact-checking skills and a working knowledge of SEO a must, familiarity with basic HTML appreciated.
Applicants must have strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for Broadway, off-Broadway and emerging theater--without it, you'll be completely lost.
The Copy Editor who joins our team will also be an integral part of pitching, news sweeping, shaping and contributing to Editorial's coverage of Broadway, off-Broadway and regional theater, so an understanding of stars, writers, trends and major projects in the theater world is essential.
The right candidate will be able to edit without altering a feature writer's unique and individual voice.
Two years experience in copy editing and fact checking in an editorial, publishing or research setting preferred.
A thorough knowledge of the English language, grammar, proofreader's marks, research tools, and the principles of journalism are mandatory.
Candidate must be highly organized and able to work on several projects at once while on deadline.
