The Register Citizen is looking for a managing editor. This position is the #2 in a lean newsroom, accustomed to multitasking. The successful candidate will be an innovator, someone capable of integrating new media dissemination avenues into traditional processes. There are also significant pagination responsibilities (using InDesign). Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Headline writing and front page design - Web updates - Staff Management - Content management - Line and copy editing Candidates with some experience will be considered first, as will candidates with some knowledge of Connecticut, specifically Northwest Connecticut. Oh, so some experience might be useful in someone with all of those responsibilities?

The dreaded photo requirement is the icing on the cake. And it has to be sent to a Yahoo e-mail address at that! This obviously is a first-rate operation, as well as being delusional. Well, at least the paper took the time to point out that St. Kitts and Nevis isn't part of the U.S.

Good luck to the company and the "successful" applicant. You're both going to need it.

On the other hand, judging from the ad, their standards for excellence in writing and editing shouldn't be too hard to meet.
