Besides the age thing, if it isn't a violation of some federal law to force applicants to include a photo -- which can eliminate candidates on the basis of race, gender, age, acne, baldness or genetic misfortune -- it should be.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think you are right. The employer is Turkish, but the help-wanted site is American. Legalities aside, this ad should have never been published.

'Expert" Larry Dickens "weighs in."

The most interesting part of this is the comment that "obviously" this does not apply to the entertainment industry. I would be very interested to see how an exclusion for the entertainment industry would be written into such a state law.

And now that many newspapers require reporters to appear in Web videos, are we part of this "entertainment industry?"

I'm puzzled as to why he refers to state laws. Last time I took EEO training, it was federal law.

Which, last I checked, still meant "in all 50 states."
