But I don't see anything about a housing allowance, and decent housing in Dubai will cost you about Dh8,000 a month. And there's that police state thing. ***

The National copy editors by and large are relatively well-paid, but salaries and other guarantees are subject to the whims of the "company." And getting something in writing is no guarantee of anything. I respect and admire Daniel Beaulieu, with whom I worked for seven months. He is responsible for none of the National's editorial or "human resource" problems.
