I admit that by living in a vacation paradise I have a skewed view of what is or is not a nice place to live, but if my "career" ever advances to the point where earning $20,000 in Hugo, OK is a plum assignment then I will kindly request that one of you put a bullet in to my head.
Never having been to Hugo, Oklahoma, I decided to look it up and found that always reliable Wikipedia says it is where the circus winters, that the town's attractions are a Walmart and a stoplight and that its Hugo High School Fighting Buffaloes are 4-3 but riding a three-game win streak. Also, it is pizza on Friday at the school cafeteria, which is about all your kids will be able to afford if you take that salary on offer.

Ah, but they'll be in good company: The median household income locally is $19K.

And Bill Moyers and B.J. Thomas found it a good place to be "from."
