This sort of thing would never appear in an American paper. England, here I come.

Was that right next to the story about the guy who decided to give up his hobbies of S&M, bestiality and necrophilia? You know, the one who got tired of beating a dead horse ...

It makes me laugh! It's front page because the researcher earned an IgNobel prize, awarded by a panel sponsored by The Annals of Improbable Research. The IgNobel is a bit of spoof, along the lines of Jon Stewart's fake news. Like Stewart's sources, the unreproducible results and goofy investigations are real. One of the criteria is the "scientific reports" that might otherwise gather dust must make us laugh and think. I've laughed. Now I'll ponder. Thanks for the link!

It gives a whole new and deeply disturbing meaning to the lines from the classic song Lets Fall in Love.
"Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it, lets do it....etc.

We had necrophilia on the front page just this week.

The names have been changed.
Quote:
Parents of seventh-graders at School are criticizing a teacher for showing an R-rated film to his class on Wednesday.

Joe Teacher, a seventh-grade history teacher, reportedly did not show up to work on Thursday after students and parents protested his screening of "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" the day before....

A school official said only that "the situation with the teacher has been addressed." ...

A number of parents decried the screening of "The Messenger" for an audience of mostly 12- and 13-year-olds. Most of the complaints centered on a fairly explicit scene involving the rape of a dead woman. ...

I never saw that flick, nor did I see this story before it printed. Yikes. I would have made some changes if I had.
