AP doesn't think you need to hyphenate homemade, so don't hyphenate housemade. Unless you do hyphenate house-made, which is okey-dokey, because AP also hyphenates house-made. Anyway, when did the homely old word [in use since at least the 17th century, and frequently not used literally, since it can also mean something that's cooked up in a restaurant] lose out to this unnecessary neologism?
