A battery of journalism professionals and academics representing a host of major organizations are conducting research aimed at producing practical recommendations for combating and dealing with plagiarism and fabrication. Their conclusions are to be presented at a summit that will be part of the 2013 ACES conference in St. Louis.

We feel a little left out.

We were on the anti-plagiarism case well before it exploded in recent years. As much as I respect and admire Bill Connolly, I have to disagree with him on one point. "There’s no accepted definition of plagiarism, let alone a standard approach to dealing with it," he said. Absolutely there is no consistency in how plagiarism is punished, but the only people who can claim there is no "accepted definition" are the plagiarists.
