Love it when Canadians are hired to sing the American national anthem ... guess there aren't any Yanks deemed to be up to the job these days?

But she had previously recorded that song on a various-artists album that raised funds for 9/11 rescuers. I guess that diminishes the irony a bit. :)

I see nothing odd about a Canadian singer being hired by the NFL to sing "God Bless America." After all, she works for Sony. Wags might suggest that there's something peculiar about a group called the "Dixie Chicks" singing the national anthem.<p>[ January 27, 2003: Message edited by: blanp ]</p>
