NEW YORK - A few weeks ago Time selected as its "Person of the Year" three "whistle-blowers" including the egregious Sherron Watkins. That was Time Magazine, a mere unit, speaking for the planet. For its own person of the year, AOL Time Warner, the corporation writ large, stuck closer to home and selected Richard Parsons, already its CEO, as its new chairman. <p>About the author: "Dan Ackman is a staff writer at Forbes.com. OED - egregious a. shocking (egregious folly, blunder, ass); (arch.) remarkable; hence ~ly adv., ~ness n. [f L e(gregius f. grex gregis flock) illustrious, lit. 'standing out from the flock'].
I've known people like that.
