HAVANA (AP) — The father of Elian Gonzalez, President Fidel Castro, an Olympic track medalist and a popular folk singer are on the ballot for Cuba's parliament in Sunday elections.<p>*** It strikes me that this lead can almost be read to mean that Castro is a) the father of Elian Gonzalez; b) an Olympic track medalist; and c) a popular folk singer. The only thing that saves this lead from outright stating such is the "are," which indicates more than one object precedes it -- but that may be too fine a distinction for already overwhelmed readers.
