You better not cry, you better not pout and you better not drink and drive this holiday season, Midland police say.

What? The flack down at the Midland cop shop is capable of such poetry? I am aghast. Granted, it has been a while since I covered cops, but such grace (The agony! The ecstasy! The sheer power of the carefully chosen words!) was decidedly lacking in most of the stuff I read. Then again, I was an intern, so maybe they kept the "good stuff" away from me.<p>[ December 14, 2002: Message edited by: Drew4AU ]</p>

I can't remember who did it (I think the Bonzo Dog Band? Or maybe Firesign Theater?), but there was some comedy troupe that did a skit about an undercover police office:<p>"Hey....man. How would you like to buy some hot marijuana? Just step over to my car parked in a northwesterly direction...."
