SARATOGA SPRINGS … Jockey Filiberto Leon gave his bride-to-be an early wedding present Friday
afternoon. He won the first race at Saratoga Race Course in his only mount of the day.<p> NORTH GREENBUSH … By being nimble and quick, MapInfo finally hopes to jump over the $41
million candlestick of annual revenues at which it has stalled the last two years.<p> A physical disability isn't a barrier to success … though ignorance could be … according to a
man who should know: Bob Dole.<p> If Mother Nature and Old Man Winter had a child, the brat's name would be March and it
would be sickly with symptoms like frigid temperatures, coughing snow, and shaking from a
chill wind.<p>
LOS ANGELES … ``Men in Black II'' grabbed fis
tfuls of little green dollars at the box office as the alien-bus
ting sequel debuted with $54.1 million in its first weekend, sli
ghtly more than the original made.<p>
It's 9:30 p.m. in Wilmette, Ill., and all is quiet save for the three idiots in the living
room terrorizing the cat, smacking golf balls at the furniture and shouting ``we want
croutons, we want croutons.''<p>
At Saturday's funeral of former Albany Mayor Tom Whalen, one of the city's finest mounts left
a large deposit on Madison Place, yards from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where
the funeral cortege was to arrive.<p>
NEW YORK (AP) … It's like deja O'vu.<p> The Irish Lesbian and Gay Organization wanted to march up Fifth Avenue in the annual St.
Patrick Day Parade … again.

Many of today’s “nu metal“ bands try to incorporate Tool’s sonics into their own sound. Yet, Tool put on a performance at Gund Arena last night so forceful and so disturbing that it exposed most of its imitators as pretenders. <p>
