.. that you see in stories etc. Cause I'm new here and I'd enjoy that.
I know it sounds like I'm being sarcastic but I'm not. Pointing out people's mistakes is a small part of who I am - 0.5 to 1.5 percent.
And what about discussions along the lines of effect/affect or whether you should put 0.5 to 1.5 percent or 0.5-1.5 percent is acceptable?
Just asking
Temple
Also I'd like to know why Canadian/British papers only use single quotes and why editors who move from there want to stubbornly stick to that and tell you you're wrong to say different.

In Canada per cent is two words.
We use single quotes in heads to save space, but double in copy, unless it's a quote within a quote of course.

In the New Yorker per cent is two words too.
I'm sure there's a connection there, I'm just not sure I'm able to make it. ;)

No that makes no sense. All the above is the same in America but in English edition books there are single quotes for everything and it can be confusing. And it still doesn't explain stupid editor. did I say stuid? I meant misguided. No, stupid's good.
Of course its single quotes in heds.
I'll look around again - maybe. Thanks for reply though
